Royal Caribbean unveil latest Oasis of the Seas neighbourhoods

Royal Caribbean International has revealed two more neighbourhoods of the highly anticipated Oasis of the Seas, the largest and most revolutionary cruise ship in the world. The Pool and Sports Zone, and the Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center are the latest attractions to be announced following news of Central Park, the Boardwalk, and Royal Promenade.

Stretching the length of the ship, the Pool and Sports Zone will feature private cabanas, four types of pool and, two FlowRider surf simulators – each larger than the single FlowRider found on the line’s Freedom-class ships such as Independence of the Seas. The Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center will include new services as well as a spa dedicated to children and teenagers, plus a new fitness line up such as Kenesis group classes.

Pool and Sports Zone highlights
• First ever Beach Pool at sea with sloped entry allowing guests to wade into the water or relax in colourful beach chairs
• Two whirlpools either side of the ‘beach’ for guests who prefer warmer waters
• Located on the opposite side of the ship from the Beach Pool, and separated by Central Park six decks below, is the Main Pool with two side-by-side whirlpools
• Private cabanas overlooking both pools, complete with dedicated attendants
• Enhanced H20 Zone for younger guests, marked by a giant octopus with slides and water-spraying tentacles, surrounded by fellow water-spouting ocean creatures
• Within the H20 Zone, separate wading and current pools, as well as dedicated infant and toddler pool set in an interactive aquatic playground surrounded by adult and child size lounge chairs
• A Sports Pool where afternoon water team sports will include basketball, badminton and water polo, while mornings will be dedicated to lap swimming
• Two-deck high glass-panelled open-air Solarium with seating on various ‘islands’ surrounded by water featuring a swimming pool, two whirlpools, four cantilevered whirlpools suspended 136 feet above the ocean
• Mezzanine level of the adults-only Solarium will overlook the pool offering additional seating
• New Solarium Bistro with Vitality Spa menu options during the day, and romantic and intimate speciality dining in the evening
• Club 20 nightclub experience, made popular on Freedom-class ships
• First zip line at sea
• Two FlowRider surf simulators flanking either side of the elevated back deck
• Nine hole miniature golf course, Oasis Dunes
• Sports Court for basketball and volleyball

Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center highlights:
• New spa relaxation rooms to encourage guests to unwind before any treatment
• Thermal Suite featuring heated tile loungers
• Saunas and steam rooms
• Three couples massage suites and seven individual treatment rooms – the largest collection at sea
• Dedicated kids and teen Spa for younger guests
• Fitness Center featuring the latest cardio and resistance equipment and facilities for spinning, kickboxing, Pilates and yoga classes
• New Kenesis group classes, a full-body, no-impact workout utilising fluid, natural movement to engage several muscle groups simultaneously
• Vitality Café for smoothies, juices, healthy snacks and light meals

The ship is now open for sale to Royal Caribbean International’s biggest fans, the loyalty club members who have taken at least ten cruises with the brand. Oasis of the Seas goes on general sale on 3rd September 2008. Prices start from £1,299 per person for a nine-night fly/cruise including return flights from the UK and a seven-night Caribbean cruise aboard Oasis of the Seas.
